I know that my redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand on the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God; I myself will see him with my own eyes—I, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!
Job 19:25-27 New International Version (NIV)
Through Jesus Christ, we are offered a blessed assurance! Our Redeemer lives and will live forever. In this passage of Scripture, Job did not have Jesus to credit his faith to. Yet, he knew God and believed Him. We who know Jesus as Lord and Savior have His Spirit residing in our hearts. We have God's Word to teach us His way. We look forward to the second coming of Christ as we seek to follow in His footsteps.
Still like Job, we desire to see His face with our own eyes. As our hearts yearn for this, may our worship be pleasing in God's sight so that one day we will behold our magnificent and beautiful Redeemer in the everlasting Kingdom of God when He returns to stand in sovereign authority over this very world He created.
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14 NIV
