Don't Be Deceived

See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

Colossians 2:8-10 New International Version (NIV)

Lies can be loud. There are those who shout untruths over and over again in an attempt to make them sound believable. Human traditions are touted as if God Himself spoke these words and those who do not seek to know what is really true fall prey to those who speak with authority they do not have. But God will not be mocked. There is a darkness in this world right now, but it only has power to deceive us if our light is off. Shine your light!

Believers have a tendency to forget who is in total control of everything that happens in this world. We fret and grow anxious about what could happen as if our worrying will somehow change the outcome. We live in a world where the enemy of our souls has been allowed to challenge us with deceit but his time is short. Those who profess faith in Jesus Christ must believe what He said in John 16:33: " In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

God sent His Son with all power. He is the head over EVERY power and authority. There is nothing to fear from anyone as we follow our Lord and Savior. In Him, we are more than conquerors. Jesus Christ has secured our victory. That means we win!

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. Galatians 6:7 NIV

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6 NIV
