Choose

But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

Joshua 24:15 New International Version (NIV)

We live in a world of variables. Yet, God does not change. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. Still He gives us the opportunity to choose. Whom will we serve? The God of Creation is the prevailing force because it is He who is the Creator of all that is. He has already chosen us. Through Him, we live, breathe and have our being. What a privilege to be chosen by the One who is the sovereign God and Ruler over all things. Why would we choose anyone else but He who gives us a choice and the One who offers everlasting life in His Kingdom? And He even gave His Son to take us there. God willingly chose us and but gives us freewill to choose Him.

We have a choice to make. Joshua made his choice. He and his house would serve the Lord. God seeks willing hearts like His because these are those who will live with Him forever. Choosing to follow Jesus Christ will be the best and most eternal choice we will ever make.

“You can enter God’s Kingdom only through the narrow gate. The highway to hell is broad, and its gate is wide for the many who choose that way.” Matthew 7:13 NLT
