But let me reveal to you a wonderful secret. We will not all die, but we will all be transformed! It will happen in a moment, in the blink of an eye, when the last trumpet is blown. For when the trumpet sounds, those who have died will be raised to live forever. And we who are living will also be transformed. For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.
Then, when our dying bodies have been transformed into bodies that will never die, this Scripture will be fulfilled:
“Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is your victory?
O death, where is your sting?”
For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.
1 Corinthians 15:51-58 New Living Translation (NLT)
Jesus did something very special for us. He gave His life for our sins. He removed death's power by dying Himself once and for all. He arose from the grave to give us eternal life in the Kingdom of God. Bound by laws we can't seem to keep, our destiny was death. But the truth has been revealed. The secret is no longer a mystery. We are now free to follow Christ Jesus straight into the arms of our Holy Father, our Living God, our Creator. Believing in this wonderful sacrifice we do not deserve, embracing the grace that is ours through faith, living our lives trusting the Holy Spirit to enable us to follow the example Jesus set as He lived among us in this world, ensures that we will be transformed into His likeness.
Suddenly! In the blink of an eye, we will be changed into the children of God He created us to be, whose sole desire will be to worship Him forever. These bodies we now inhabit die daily. But we will be changed. Aches and pains, misery and sorrow, worry and despair, all evil — gone! Everlasting life filled with joy, peace and love will replace sin, guilt and shame. Hard to imagine isn't it? So don't imagine it. Believe it and listen for that last horn to blow. Let's spend this time serving and thanking God for His plan to finally put an end to the madness in this world. The victory is already won! Rejoice and share this news with the world!
