Who is Jesus?

Long ago God spoke in many different ways to our fathers through the prophets, in visions, dreams, and even face to face, telling them little by little about his plans.

But now in these days he has spoken to us through his Son to whom he has given everything and through whom he made the world and everything there is.

God’s Son shines out with God’s glory, and all that God’s Son is and does marks him as God. He regulates the universe by the mighty power of his command. He is the one who died to cleanse us and clear our record of all sin, and then sat down in highest honor beside the great God of heaven.

Hebrews 1:1-3 Living Bible (TLB)

When God the Father wanted to reveal His character to us, He sent His Son. Father, Son and Holy Spirit were the "us" referred to when God elected to create us in His image —Genesis 1:26. It seems that after testing the hearts and ways of humankind, God decided to send His Son to give an example of how we are to demonstrate the characteristics of our Creator. Or was this God's plan all along? The mission of Christ was to set us free from sin and to prepare us for eternal life in the forever Kingdom of God. He completed His work on the Cross, returned to the Father and left the Holy Spirit to live within us to help us to become what was intended for us to be in the first place. Who is Jesus? He is our Savior. He is our Redeemer. He is the Son of the Living God and it is He who will return for all who believe in who He is. Jesus is Lord and the very likeness of our God who literally walked among us to show us how to live and how to love.
