Long ago God spoke in many different ways to our fathers through the prophets, in visions, dreams, and even face to face, telling them little by little about his plans.
But now in these days he has spoken to us through his Son to whom he has given everything and through whom he made the world and everything there is.
God’s Son shines out with God’s glory, and all that God’s Son is and does marks him as God. He regulates the universe by the mighty power of his command. He is the one who died to cleanse us and clear our record of all sin, and then sat down in highest honor beside the great God of heaven.
Hebrews 1:1-3 Living Bible (TLB)
We are told in God's Word to lean not on our own understanding but to trust God with all of our hearts (Proverbs 3:5). God's ways are so far beyond ours that the major quest of our faith walk is to simply trust Him for those things we cannot understand. Jesus came to TEACH us to trust the Father through Him. The Holy Spirit was sent to HELP us to trust the Father and to comfort us while we do. We are not left to the task of trying to figure God out because we are incapable of doing so. Can the created question the ways of the Creator?
Back in the day, God spoke in many different ways to His Creation. He revealed as little or as much as He wanted them to know. The part of God we know as the Son was a part of God then and so was the Holy Spirit. The Lord God was, is and is to come (Revelation 1:8). Jesus came as God made flesh to dwell among us as the way God chose to make it possible for Him to speak to us and reveal His glory. After Jesus did what He came to do, He went back to the Father, which is where He came from, leaving us with His promise to return. He asks us to trust Him and left His Word and His Spirit to enable us to know how to follow His ways. Jesus will return and establish God's coming Kingdom for all who believe in and follow Him. The Lord asks us to believe, not to understand.
God the Father sent His Son, Jesus, to die once and for all who believe in who He is. When we accept His precious gift of grace, we are cleansed and our records are cleared of sin. God spoke loud and clear. The Great I AM did not ask for suggestions when He spoke. He did not ask for opinions or objections. As we trust and obey His Word, He knows if we truly believe and if we are listening to Him, however He chooses to speak to us.
