The Secret is Out!

This message was kept secret for centuries and generations past, but now it has been revealed to God’s people. For God wanted them to know that the riches and glory of Christ are for you Gentiles, too. And this is the secret: Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing his glory.

So we tell others about Christ, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all the wisdom God has given us. We want to present them to God, perfect in their relationship to Christ. That’s why I work and struggle so hard, depending on Christ’s mighty power that works within me.

Colossians 1:26-29 New Living Translation (NLT)

Sometimes it's hard for us to keep a secret. We promise someone that we won't tell what they have revealed to us in confidence but just about burst open when trying to keep this information to ourselves especially when it's good news. Gossip is another matter entirely because those who spread rumors they've heard about someone to someone else can't always be relied upon to know and share the truth. God does not lie (Numbers 23:19) and His Word is Truth. He kept His secret for a long time and now He has revealed it to us.

Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who is, was and is to come, was with the Father from the beginning (John 1:2). God not only tells us about His Son in His Word, He actually sent His Son to live among us, to die for us and live in us, so that we may live with Him forever in the Kingdom of God. The secret is out! The truth has been revealed. We just have to believe it. This isn't some tall tale we must whisper or murmur as if we are afraid of being overheard. This is the Good News that God wants us all to know and share. God sent His only begotten Son to die to save this world from the certain death of sin and He rose from the grave to give eternal life to all who believe and follow Him. Feel free to tell everyone!

I have been sent to bring faith to those God has chosen and to teach them to know God’s truth—the kind of truth that changes lives—so that they can have eternal life, which God promised them before the world began—and he cannot lie. And now in his own good time he has revealed this Good News and permits me to tell it to everyone. Titus 1:2-3 TLB
