“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14 NIV
When we follow the crowd, we can find ourselves in places we didn't necessarily desire to be. Sometimes our curiosity gets the best of us and we have a desire to make sure we're not missing something. So we tend to head for the gate where everybody is lining up to get inside. There's plenty of room, but lots more people making it crowded. And they all could be about to fall off a cliff! Jesus points us to take a different path — one where we follow Him. This road is less traveled and we will sometimes walk it single file. No pushing and shoving here because the crowd hasn't found this way just yet. This narrow gate opens to a path that leads to eternal life and we must enter it just as we came into this world — alone with God.
