For this is what the high and exalted One says—he who lives forever, whose name is holy: I live in a high and holy place, but also with the one who is contrite and lowly in spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and to revive the heart of the contrite.
Isaiah 57:15 NIV
God sits up high but He sent His Son down low — to us. Jesus came so low that all who dwell in despair could know that we can still look up. This world has been restructured from God's original intention. When we reflect on Jesus laying down His life for our sin, we have to recognize that this sacrifice must have been absolutely necessary for our reconciliation with God and the revival of His initial purpose for our existence. When we find ourselves broken by life and knocked down to the bottom by trial and tribulation, we can always put our hope in the Most High God, who has promised to live in our lowly spirits and revive us as we lift our contrite hearts to Him. Our best position for looking up is from the bottom.
