Solomon Prays

"Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?”

1 Kings 3:9 New Living Translation (NLT)

“But will God really live on earth? Why, even the highest heavens cannot contain you. How much less this Temple I have built! Nevertheless, listen to my prayer and my plea, O Lord my God. Hear the cry and the prayer that your servant is making to you today. May you watch over this Temple night and day, this place where you have said, ‘My name will be there.’ May you always hear the prayers I make toward this place. May you hear the humble and earnest requests from me and your people Israel when we pray toward this place. Yes, hear us from heaven where you live, and when you hear, forgive.”

1 Kings 8:27-30 New Living Translation (NLT)

Sacred and Sovereign Savior,

In humble adoration, we come before Your Throne of mercy to thank You for Your grace. We worship You in Spirit and in truth. You have promised a new heaven and new earth where You will establish Your Kingdom. Grant us favor as we follow Your Son, Jesus Christ, and we seek to dwell in Your courts forever. Hear our prayers and praises just as You heard the prayers of Solomon and sent Your Son to save us and forgive our sin. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.

In the name of Jesus, we pray.

Amen.
