Prayer of Jonah

As my life was slipping away, I remembered the Lord. And my earnest prayer went out to you in your holy Temple. Those who worship false gods turn their backs on all God’s mercies. But I will offer sacrifices to you with songs of praise, and I will fulfill all my vows. For my salvation comes from the Lord alone.

Jonah 2:7-9 New Living Translation (NLT)

My Lord and My God,

You are the only wise God, Creator of Heaven and earth. Thank You for who You are and for loving me just as I am. Thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for all You do to sustain me. You formed me in my mother's womb and You hold my life in Your hands. You gave Your only begotten Son to save me. I am undeserving of Your grace, but it is mine simply because of Your never-failing love. All honor and glory I offer You for You alone are worthy. There is none like You. I will praise You for all of my days.

In the name of Jesus I pray.

Amen.

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—the moon and the stars you set in place—what are mere mortals that you should think about them, human beings that you should care for them? Psalm 8:3-4 NLT
