All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of their possessions was their own, but they shared everything they had. With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And God’s grace was so powerfully at work in them all that there were no needy persons among them.
Acts 4:32-34 NIV
The world today often deems generosity as a weakness. However, it is the power of God that leads us to share with one another. God calls us to share possessions and knowledge of who He is. Freshly anointed with the Holy Spirit, early Believers were given wisdom to know God’s grace and to recognize the power at work within them. They were still caught up in the miracle of the resurrection of Jesus Christ and His promises. Even as many claim Jesus Christ as Lord today, people forget about grace. Makes one wonder how that will turn out.
We can thank God that although His mercy is new each day, He never changes. He is all powerful and extends that power to us. As He provides for all our needs, it is our reasonable sacrifice to share with others. In this land of riches, there is no reason for anyone to be in need. Especially since it all belongs to God.
We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God’s own power, when we learned that he had invited us to share in his wonderful goodness.
