Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
James 4:13-15 NIV
We are a planning people. We schedule the time in our lives while not giving much thought to the fact that we are not promised the next 15 minutes. Even giving birth has become something people seek to put on a timeline. Some even try to schedule their departure from life. It is God who creates time and He has already numbered the days of all who live. We just need to make the most of the time He gives us on this planet and use it to please Him since He holds the clock and the calendar. It's not a bad thing to make plans, but only as we accept the fact that life still happens while we make them and it is the Lord's will that shall prevail. It's a good thing to always consult the One who holds the power to cancel any and every appointment we make.
