One God

“See now that I myself am he! There is no god besides me. I put to death and I bring to life, I have wounded and I will heal, and no one can deliver out of my hand.”

Deuteronomy 32:39 NIV

People have a tendency to compartmentalize things. We label and categorize according to our desires and circumstances. Many have a place and time that is set just for God or for whatever gods we put in His place. How generous we sometimes feel as we designate a place for our Creator in our lives. How amused God must be as He observes all His hands have made and finds those of us who actually think we are in control of our lives. Perhaps this is why we are so often stunned when we realize that we have no control over our ultimate healing or death. However, there is peace in relying upon the One True God and Father of us all. It is He who has given us life and it is He who sustains it. When we accept that we are limited but He who loved us into being has no limitations, we can move on to the next phase of this life He has given us and live it to please Him. Just as in His Word He tells us who He is, He tells us how to do just that.
