Look up to the heavens, and look at the earth beneath; for the heavens will vanish like smoke, the earth will wear out like a garment, and its inhabitants will die like gnats. But My salvation will last forever, and My righteousness will never be shattered.
Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, the people in whose heart is My instruction: do not fear disgrace by men, and do not be shattered by their taunts.
Isaiah 51:6-7 Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)
Since God examines hearts and minds, it is futile to deny the truth or to try to twist it to make it look like something else. Sometimes a lie is told so much, even the liar who tells it forgets the truth! The Creator knows the hearts of those He has created and we only know as much as He reveals to us. When we accept the truth, we get to move forward to what God expects us to do as we live in this world and into what He has promised to do for us as we advance toward His Kingdom. God will not change, but everything else will.
When believing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, we hold God's instructions in our hearts. We get to walk in His righteousness. We do not have to fear those who don't know the Lord but simply recognize their need to know, especially if what they say or do is not of God. God wants us to honor Him from our hearts where His Spirit dwells in those who truly believe, not from our mouths or something someone else says. To do this, we must get to know Him for ourselves in Spirit and in truth. God does not lie. People do.
The Lord says:
“These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is based on merely human rules they have been taught.” Isaiah 29:13 NIV
Isaiah prophesied wisely about your religious pretensions when he wrote,
"These people honor Me with words off their lips; meanwhile their hearts are far from Me." Mark 7:6 VOICE
