You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 5:6-8 NIV
It can be hard to conceive that Christ died for us. As we confess our belief in the Son of God and accept Him as our Savior, we acknowledge how God's Word tells us He did this. But we still do not quite grasp the enormity of His sacrifice. That Jesus left Heaven, came to earth as a baby born in poverty, grew only to 33 years old and allowed humanity to kill Him — all to save humanity from sin, is truly beyond our comprehension. Yet, that is what He did. And He is coming back to finish what He started. When we believe in faith that Jesus laid down His life for this fallen world, we can also trust in His promise to take us all the way to everlasting life in the Kingdom of God when we follow Him. And there is nothing better in this world that sinners saved only by grace can do other than that. Believe it!
