“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."
Jeremiah 29:11-12 NIV
God had a plan for Jesus and He has a plan for each one of us. When He spoke the world into existence, He intricately designed everything in it with specifications we cannot begin to imagine. And we are sustained in this world He created — kept alive for His purposes. We may not comprehend why we are here and some even want to give the credit for life to something they think they understand. Jesus knew His Father's plan and purpose for sending Him into this world and in His divinity He fulfilled it. Indeed, He's still working on it. But, as a human, He struggled with it. Yet, that didn't stop it from being fulfilled. We are sustained by the intercession of Christ and promised everlasting life when we accept Him as our Savior. At some point, we all struggle with wondering why we are here. However, we must learn to rely upon the divine nature of Jesus Christ to fulfill the purpose and plan God has placed over our lives and as human beings, stand in His divine righteousness. This is how our calling will be made manifest in our existence in this world. Let us not ask God "why"— let us ask Him "what."
Now glory be to God, who by his mighty power at work within us is able to do far more than we would ever dare to ask or even dream of—infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, or hopes. May he be given glory forever and ever through endless ages because of his master plan of salvation for the Church through Jesus Christ.
