Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:2 NIV As children, many of us played the game called Follow the Leader, wherein we would emulate the kid in the front and conform to whatever they would do. Usually, supervision was around to ensure we didn't follow the leader off a cliff! Conforming to the ways of this world can be a lot like that. However, in the Word of God we are warned to be careful who we follow because being in Christ means this world is not our home and not everyone is fit to lead us. We are all uniquely gifted to serve God's purpose for our existence, even if we sometimes lose our way. Jesus came to show us the way we should go to use those gifts in accordance to the will of God. It can be difficult to choose to be different in this world we live in, but God has also given us His Word to follow, as well as the ability to transform and renew our minds so that we can learn His perfect will for each of us. It is then we will find the true Leader we should follow and He is always ready and waiting to guide us to His plan and purpose for putting us here. Let God's will be done. That's the only will that works. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. Romans 12:6 NIV
