Faith

If we believe that Jesus is truly Christ, we are God’s children. Everyone who loves the Father will also love his children. If we love and obey God, we know that we will love his children. We show our love for God by obeying his commandments, and they are not hard to follow. Every child of God can defeat the world, and our faith is what gives us this victory. No one can defeat the world without having faith in Jesus as the Son of God. 1 John 5:1-5 Contemporary English Version (CEV) Following the commandments of God is not hard. God asks those who confess they believe that His Son Jesus is Christ to simply do what is right according to His Word. He asks us to love and honor Him and to love others. This love helps us to follow all God's commands as it provokes the Holy Spirit residing within us to assist in our obedience. Our faith is where most of us struggle. Maybe that's why He only asks for faith the size of a mustard seed. When we believe that Jesus is Christ, the Son of God, and He gave His life for us, we are called children of God. Faith in what that means is what gives us victory in this world. We can believe in who Jesus is, but lack faith in just how awesome His power is in being the only begotten Son of the Most High God. That power is what saves us. That power is what raised Him from the dead and lives to help us overcome the trials of this world, keeping us from defeat and promising us forever in His Kingdom. As we believe in Jesus as the Son of God, we must hold fast to our faith in who He is and His power to do anything. Even what seems impossible. No matter what things look like. Faith is believing what we cannot see.
