Am I only a God nearby, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them? declares the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.
I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, 'I had a dream! I had a dream!' How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds?

When we proclaim that God is over all, are we speaking what we believe in our hearts? That's where He's looking. We serve a God who sits high and looks low upon all He has made. Our sovereign God is both near and far. Not only is He up there, but He is down here too. In fact, God sent His only Son, Jesus, to walk among us for a time and to leave His Spirit within our hearts when He left. This means, Jesus Christ is still walking around on this planet, living in the hearts of true believers, even as He stands in Heaven interceding for us at the right hand of the Father. Fearing God is an indication that we believe He sees everything and that we cannot hide anything from Him. God's truth cannot be distorted by humankind. I can lie to you and you can lie to me, but God will not be mocked! And He IS over all.
