Division

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. 1 Corinthians 1:10 NIV The Word of God is unambiguous on division. Believers in Christ are His followers and are to be doers of God's Word. As human beings, we all fall short of God's glory in our personal behavior. The Bible gives us instructions on how to correct that and the Holy Spirit helps us to do it. However, we know we are collectively the Body of Christ called together for one purpose. There is no "us" and "them" among those who claim Jesus as Lord. We are made one as we follow our Savior to the Kingdom of God. Scripture was not provided to us to distort its truth or to let anyone interpret it in ways that cause division. God's Word does not encourage us to be unloving and unforgiving of those placed on the other side of where we say we stand. So the question is: Just who are we allowing to divide us? It sure ain't God!
