So do not throw away this confident trust in the Lord. Remember the great reward it brings you! Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do God’s will. Then you will receive all that he has promised.

Hebrews 10:35-36 NLT

We put our confidence in many things that are not really promised to us. Disappoint comes when we realize that our confidence is misplaced. God does not fail. He calls us to trust in Him and He will help us to endure the trials of this life. He has even promised us a future with no trouble. He calls us to follow Jesus in doing His will and He will reward us with fulfilling every promise He has made. As sinners, saved only by God's grace, this is one thing we can truly be confident about. We can put our trust in God as we go through difficulty and be confident as we press on toward His higher calling. God knows the end from the beginning and He does not disappoint.
