At All Times

I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble hear and be glad. Oh, magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together!

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him!

Psalm 34:1-3, 8 English Standard Version (ESV)

When our lives are overflowing with blessings, do we always praise the Lord? When the road is rough and times are hard, do we still always praise the Lord? David tells us in God's Word that he blesses the Lord at all times. Every breath is a reason to praise God because He has given us that breath. When we can no longer breathe, we will be given the eternal breath of life through Jesus Christ as we accept Him as Savior and Lord. We should offer continuous praise to God because He is ever worthy of our praise and with us at all times.

We experience good and bad times because God has blessed us with the ability to compare. How can we know good if we never see anything bad? We can't miss that which we can't measure. Our faith in the unceasing goodness of God is strengthened when we are given cause to know that His presence is constant no matter what our circumstances. We can truly taste and see that the Lord is good as we continually praise Him with our mouths!

Magnify the Lord with me! Let's boast of His goodness for He is the Creator and Sustainer of life. Every good and perfect gift comes from Him. He is our refuge and a very present help in trouble and He is the eternal Source of our joy and blessings. Since He alone is able to use everything for our good and His glory, let's exalt His holy name at all times!
