Let's Talk

Angels are Watching

The Lord is your protection; you have made God Most High your place of safety.  Nothing bad will happen to you; no disaster will come to your home.  He has put his angels in charge of you to watch over you wherever you go.  They will catch you in their hands so that you will not hit your foot on a rock.  You will walk on lions and cobras; you will step on strong lions and snakes.

The Lord says, “Whoever loves me, I will save.  I will protect those who know me.  They will call to me, and I will answer them.  I will be with them in trouble; I will rescue them and honor them.”

Psalm 91:9-15 New Century Version (NCV)

Security is a lucrative business these days.  Much money is spent on devices and systems sold to protect us by alerting us of the threat of imminent danger.  We are made aware of an uninvited intruder who more than likely means to do us harm.  But then what?

The police are summoned.  Weapons are drawn.  We still quake with fear.  Sometimes people just hide in the closet quietly waiting and hoping for the peril to pass or for help to come.  In that waiting period of silence and fear, we can pray.  We can remember the angels God has promised who watch over us and call out to Him for protection.  The angels are there.  They have been assigned to our individual safekeeping as we trust in the Lord.  Those angels are busy doing their jobs of watching out for and protecting us whether we see them or not.

This world is a scary place sometimes.  We can't protect ourselves from every bad thing that may happen in this world at every moment.  However, we can call on the Lord to rescue us and count on His protection every moment.  Even at times we don't know we need to ask for help, the angels are watching.  I am so thankful that God not only tells us not to be afraid, He assures us in His Word that He is the protective force for all who know Him and He makes it clear that His angels are on duty watching over our every move.  Thank You, Lord!

I will bless the Lord at all times. His praises shall continually be in my mouth. This is an awesome story.
