Let's Talk

Jesus answered them, “Do you finally believe? In fact, you’re about to make a run for it—saving your own skins and abandoning me. But I’m not abandoned. The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”

John 16:32-33 The Message (MSG)

As troubles flow about us in this world, it is often difficult to believe in a God we do not see actively thwarting things that come against us.  Yet this is the very challenge we face in having faith.  Faith that moves mountains and provides peace during the trials we face seems so unrealistic and out of reach.

It is more natural in our humanity to worry, stress, fret and try to figure out a solution to our problems on our own. And more often than not, none of these do anything to resolve our issues. Sometimes, things seem to just work out by themselves or in our estimation, don't work out at all, or so we like to think.

Let me tell you something:  We didn't come into this world by our own device and we will certainly not determine when we will take our last breath. Even those who try to take their own lives need the permission of the Creator of life for that to work.  This alone should give us pause when we start to think we control anything that happens during the time we are allowed to live here. Then we start asking "Why?"

We are promised in God's Word, that by faith in Christ and what He did on that Cross, everything is going to be all right. We are to love Him and love each other.  What else can we do but take Him at His Word? BELIEVE IT!
