For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7 New King James Version (NKJV)
Do you ever get scared? I do. My fears don't come from thinking of monsters under the bed or someone hiding in the closet, or even of dying. I am sometimes afraid of living in this world when bad things happen and I feel all alone. What could happen to those I love frightens me at times. What does happen to others often makes me tremble with fear.
I am so thankful for God's Word! Through it, I am reassured that being afraid is not of Him and given confidence that I can let any fears go. I am given power and good sense to know that God looms larger than anything that seeks my harm and that He cares for me. I am never alone. I am loved beyond comprehension and under the constant protection of the Most High God as I live in this world. I can put my trust in the One who rules over all and call out to Him whenever I need to.
There's a lot of bad stuff going on right now, but with God as our Father, Jesus as our Savior, and the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion, we have no reason to fear anything. No matter what happens in this world, we are held in the hands of a sovereign God and covered by His love. Be encouraged. Everything will be all right in the end. If it's not all right, it's not the end yet.
