My brothers and sisters, when you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and will have everything you need. But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous to everyone and will give you wisdom without criticizing you.
James 1:2-5 New Century Version (NCV)
God is good! Who else can tell us something like this and back it up with such a promise? When we face trouble, joy is usually the last thing we feel. Yet, we are told to be joyful in the midst of trial. To top it off, He tells us that the trouble is simply a testing of our faith and being joyful through it will produce patience which perfects and matures us. Then He offers wisdom to help us figure it out. All we have to do is ask. Who does that? Our awesome God does all this for those who believe in His power. Have you ever thought of trouble as basic "faith" training?
First and foremost, we are called to be joyful when we "go through" by trusting in the Lord who rules sovereignly over all. We are to lay our burdens at His feet and ask Him to order our steps. The wisdom comes from letting go and allowing Him to handle what we cannot. He's large and in charge! Thank You, Jesus!!!
