Lord, how they have increased that trouble me!
Many are they that rise up against me!
Many there be that say of my soul, “There is no help for him in God.”
But Thou, O Lord, art a shield for me, my glory and the lifter up of mine head.
I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and He heard me from His holy hill.

Psalm 3:1-42 1st Century King James Version (KJ21)

Mondays have a way of messing with our minds.  Often the beginning of a new week brings dread as we return to our normal routine after a weekend of freedom to enjoy doing what we really like to do.  And it's not always returning to working at jobs that threaten to bind us for the next 5 days.  Sometimes it's just starting over again worrying about the problems and frustrations we put aside on Friday afternoon.  We actually wish away our lives waiting for the next weekend, as if this will resolve the coming week's looming issues that demand our attention.

I love this passage of Scripture because it reminds me that God is the same yesterday, today and forever.  It let's me know that the Lord is a "Shield for me" who "lifts my head,"  and that there is "help" for me in God!

I'm crying out with my voice today.  Please lift my head as You hear me crying out, Lord.  I cannot do this Monday looking anywhere but up to You.
